I Am Kelsi Meyer, and This Is a Farewell

Yes, every time one of my shows ends, I have to make a tribute post for it. But really, these shows become such a huge part of my life, they're like a friend to me (a nonexistent, virtual, emotionally traumatizing, only-comes-around-once-or-twice-a-week friend). And the show that is ending now is Emma Approved. You remember The Lizzie Bennet Diaries from way back in the day? The web series based off of 'Pride and Prejudice'? Yeah, same concept, same writers, producers, etc. Except this time they've adapted 'Emma' by Jane Austen. And now it's over! *cries*
You know 'Emma', the story of the overconfident, but well-intentioned young woman who meddles in everybody's lives, trying to play matchmaker... and it all comes back and slaps her in the face... multiple times? Yep. Timeless comedy and romance in the modern times! :D

I'll confess, I was not quite as into it as I was The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. That is to say, I wasn't so invested with every moment and on the edge of my seat with every plot turn, dying for the next episode every day that wasn't Monday or Thursday (that is until the last couple weeks with the Boxx Hill drama and "I'm in love with Alex!" stuff, ya know? Then I was absolutely DYING!). However, it definitely was enjoyable and very entertaining to watch (of course! Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to make a tribute post).

Now, 'Emma' is my second favorite Jane Austen book (of course 'Pride and Prejudice' is my favorite. Isn't it everybody's?). Yes, I have actually read it and seen most of the adaptions (my favorites are the 1996 version with Gwyneth Paltrow, and the 2009 BBC mini series. And of course 'Clueless' [if you didn't know that movie was based off a Jane Austen novel, you do now]). So when I heard that Pemberley Digital (the people who made The Lizzie Bennet Diaries) were adapting it, I was oober excited. The first episode aired on YouTube in October of last year. And I was there to watch it. That's right, I have been with this show since the very beginning.

Par usual with my tribute posts, I shall begin to list off everything I loved about this show (be wary, this may become a bit extensive):
Snarky Knightley
As Emma refers to him XD. But it is true. I mean just look at all that snark! But that's why we love him. I shall miss his snarkiness dearly. And his adorable face. I mean just look at it:
He's such a cupcake!

Emma and Alex's banter
They are hilarious. That is all.

KNIGHTHOUSE!!!
Definitely the best aspect of the show! I shipped them so hard from the very beginning (and not just because I knew they were endgame). They are so adorable, it's almost sickening! I've always loved the "best friends falling for each other" stories.

The outfits
They promote ModCloth. So like all of the outfits are from there. Emma's, Harriet's, Jane's, they're all dressed by ModCloth. Even the minors like Annie, Izzy, Maddie, etc. are too. All the ladies are stylin' ;) Of course the men have to be appreciated too, even if they aren't so glammed up and accessorized, they are still fabulous (even Alex in his "boring" khakis XD).

Martin
He's way too adorable for words! His name's Bobby Martin, but his friends call him "B-Mart". You have to love him from the moment you meet him, with the "B-Mart", and the birdwatching, and the lifetime supply of nacho cheese.
And if you don't fall in love with him after his crane video, then you have no soul!

Frank's haircut
I didn't even remember that this was actually in the book too. And when I realized it was, it just cracked me up even more. How it's such a big deal to everyone, especially Emma who acts like it's SO important. And then there's Knightley who's just like "Really? A haircut?"
"I can't compete with Frank and his fancy haircut."
And just the fact that he looks exactly the same afterwards makes it all the more funny (of course that's the point, but we won't get into that).

The handshake
"You have to make the noise." OMG stop it you two!

All the jealousy!
Poor, poor Alex. But it was entirely necessary ;)

Winks
I believe there ended up being 30 in total out of 72 episodes.

Keyboard smash
Along with the pout XD

The fact that the actors are dating in real life
As if Knighthouse wasn't enough to melt my heart. These two cuties! I can't deal with it! (Also it explains their excellent onscreen chemistry)
(FOUR dozen roses? Holy moly! Is that a typo?)

They had to keep their PDA to a minimum until their characters got together though XD
I mean, look at what they posted forever ago. They would always tease with pictures like this, where it would just cut off. So we never saw anything beyond hugging or hand holding until Emma and Knightley were a thing. (The internet was "fixed" eventually for this picture XD)

Harriet and Martin's adorable awkwardness
"Oh, good! I mean, good work. I mean, you obviously don't need to learn how to flaunt... stuff... LET'S FIX YOUR COMPUTER!" XDD

Episode 70
The fandom's reactions made it even better XD

"AL!?!!?"
The equivalent of:
Which has always cracked me up.

The pinky swear XD

"Badly done, Emma."
I mean, it hurt so bad. But it was just so well done. Probably one of the best adaptions I've ever seen.

Maddie Bates (and her jams)

The nose boop!

Frank's charisma
Yes, he was a bit of a jerk, and you had to feel bad for what he put everybody through (especially Jane and Alex), but seriously, sometimes it was hard to hate him. He's just so bouncy and bubbly!
And him and Emma together... I have a slight soft spot for their chemistry ;)

Emma's realization

Every time Emma unintentionally complimented Alex

Foreshadowing

"REVENGE!!!"

The cast
(Left to right): James Brent Isaacs as Bobby "B-Mart" Martin, Brent Bailey as Alex Knightley, Joanna Sotomura as Emma Woodhouse, Dayeanne Hutton as Harriet Smith.

I don't know why this was so funny to me, but I found this: The Jane and Frank videos were a laugh, and somebody made some fan art for one of them. For some reason it really cracked me up. I'm not really sure what it is. Maybe because it's good representation of how it happened and it's just funny. IDK.
(This one's pretty funny too, but it's just reiterating what happened in the the video):

I also loved how the fandom had this thing, since the show (and her business) was called Emma Approved, but Alex (Knightley) was always disagreeing and popping Emma's bubble, that the fandom made "Knightley Disapproved" a thing XD.
He even said it in the show:

And now to close off, I found these which cracked me up (the trend right now on Tumblr is to put text posts on top of screen shots from movies/TV shows [Tumblr text posts are already hilarious, and applying them to movies/TV shows just makes it even more so] These are actually some of the best ones I've seen):

If anyone is interested in watching this fabulous, flawless show made of happiness and rainbows, you can watch the first episode HERE on Youtube. Each episode is only about 4-6 minutes long.

Also, see The Lizzie Bennet Diaries's tribute post HERE.
